Lycopene Cholesterol Treatment - August 3rd, 2009

Lycopene has been accepted as one of the best ingredients for heart health and cholesterol levels in general.  It is among the most powerful of antioxidants for one thing, which helps you to reduce the buildup of plaque among other things.  It has been advertised as cancer fighting, but this has not actually been substantiated outside the fact that it is high in antioxidants.  But lycopene essentially gives tomatoes their red color along with other vegetables and fruits in general.  It can keep the immune system healthy and prevent the development of bad cells in the body in general and the damaging of cells in general.

Research has shown that it actually does reduce specifically the risk of prostate cancer, but not cancer when it is already there.  It also prevents heart attack and with antioxidants naturally lowers bad cholesterol over time.  You can find it in tomatoes, watermelons, red cabbages, pink grapefruit, and pomelo, so a diversity of places, and it will help you in various ways including cholesterol, but certainly not limited to only one thing.  It is definitely one to look into and take quite seriously if you are serious about improving your health as a whole and protecting your heart and cholesterol levels.
